Sunday at 6pm at Mill Creek fields...we WILL make this happen!
4.18.12 • Umpire Clinic Rescheduled for Friday 4/20
Apologies for the cancellation on Sunday and the late notice.
We would like to invite you out this Friday April 20th at 6pm to Mill Creek Fields. Anyone that would like to umpire this season will need to attend Friday for training. (Those of you that attended earlier in March are all set). We know there will be a conflict for some for Friday evening. Please email our Chief Umpire, Charlie Gagne at and he will work out another time for those that still require training.
4.14.12 • Umpire Clinic Tomorrow
DLL Umpires:
If you did not attend the first ump clinic, you need to attend this one
Sunday, April 15 3-6pm Mill Creek Fields – DLL is having its field day, so we will work around their efforts.
As always, experienced umpires are asked to help with the training.
NEW!: it is not required, but I encourage parents of umpires, especially new umpires to attend the first ½ hour when we will be going over the administrative side of umpiring (primarily related to scheduling, what umps need to wear/purchase, etc.).
What to bring:
- Wear clothes and shoes suitable for running around. Although there are many rules to go over, we will be active.
- Your mitt and a helmet if you have one.
Umpire Equipment:
- Umpires receive a free shirt (returning umps are asked to use their old shirts or trade in for a new size)
- Umpires are expected to purchase their own ball bag, count indicator and plate brush. NOT NEEDED for the training. You can purchase these on your own or we will have items you can purchase: kits (ball bag, brush & indicator $16), replacement indicators ($4), and replacement brushes ($5).
See You there!

Chief Umpire.

3.14.12 • Umpire Clinics on 3/18 & 3/25
DLL Umpires:
The DLL will hold 2 umpire training clinics. It is mandatory that you attend one of the clinics.
Please read the following descriptions to determine which one you should attend:
Sunday, March 18 3-6pm Creekside Gym
This one is for EXPERIENCED UMPIRES ONLY. You are "experienced" if you:
• Have worked most of 2 or more seasons AND
• Have worked at least a few MAJOR division games as the PLATE umpire.
Sunday, March 25 3-6pm Creekside Gym
This one is for all other returning and new umpires.
As always, experienced umpires are asked to also attend this session to help with the training.
What if you can't make the correct session? Attend the other one, but this will hurt you if you are a newer umpire. You won't learn what you need to learn.
What to bring:
• Wear clothes and shoes suitable for running around. Although there are many rules to go over, we will be active.
• Your mitt and a helmet if you have one.
• Something to write with.
Umpire Equipment:
• Umpires receive a free shirt (returning umps are asked to use their old shirts or trade in for a new size)
• Umpires are expected to purchase their own ball bag, count indicator and brush. NOT NEEDED for the training. We will have kits you can purchase on the 25th.
See you there!
Charlie Gagne
Chief Umpire.

Register soon! Registration closes on Saturday, February 25th - any registrations received after the 25th will be charged a $25 late fee.
We are so lucky to live in a community that gives back to local organizations. I would like to thank Aubree's and Dexter's Pub in advance of our Dine Out for DLL nights. Both Aubree's and Dexter's Pub will be donating a portion of their proceeds back to DLL when you Dine Out.
Who needs an adult night out? Well DLL has a solution for you…How about a trip to Greektown Casino? DLL has organized a bus trip to Greektown for $35, but you will get $20 back when you arrive at Greektown…so a night out for $15! The deadline to register is March 2nd so register early because seats are limited!
Download fliers and information for all fundraisers on our
Forms page.
2.3.12 • Registration is Open!

We do apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
2.3.12 • Spring is just around the corner...
Is it spring yet?? Sure feels like it! And there are only 78 days until Opening Day! I am getting excited to see what this season holds for Dexter Little League!
So the pressing question…is registration open yet? It should be open later today, Friday February 3rd. Tell your friends and neighbors so we don’t miss anyone this year…our 10th Season of Dexter Little League! Look for the
Register Now button at the top of this page.
We will be registering for Softball, Baseball and our Challenger Division. And NEW this year T-Ball is open for 4 year olds…our T-Ball Division is still Co-Ed but will be for ages 4 – 6.
Prices will be the same as last year, but there may be a glitch with sibling discounts. Hopefully this is worked out by the time it goes live, but when you register for 2 or more players in Minors, Majors or Juniors you will be eligible for a sibling discount. (T-Ball and Coach Pitch are not eligible for sibling discounts as they are already at a reduced rate.)
We will have many fundraising opportunities this year including our annual flower sale, sponsorships for teams and fields and a Casino Night to Greektown. Watch the website for all of the details and contact us if you are willing to help out.
How can we have Little League without Volunteers? Our league is strictly based on volunteers, so I will thank you in advance for the time and commitment you will give to our children this season. We want to see you out there…the concession stand needs help, the flower sale will need help, the fields need maintaining and most importantly we need COACHES!!!! If you are interested in coaching or assisting this season please send a note to the following: or .

1.8.12 • Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Everyone! Hope you enjoyed your holiday season now it is time to start thinking about getting outside again...well sort of. Baseball season will be here before we know it.
We wanted to share an opportunity with everyone. Due to limited availability of gym time we were not able to secure any time for open gym time so we have once again asked Mr. Goffee to hold some time slots for our players at DBA. He has secured a new and more improved facility.
This season you will need to purchase a membership to DBA to participate in the secured times but that also allows you to go at any other time he is open as well. There will not be "organized" drills unless there is a parent that steps up at the secured times. There are however many batting cages and space for tee work as well open space for throwing and drills.
Secured times are as follows:
Sundays (starting 1/8/12):
Minors (ages 9 & 10) - 12:30-2pm
Majors (ages 11 & 12) - 2-3:30pm
Coach pitch (ages 7 & 8) - nothing specific but I am sure the earlier time would be fine for now. Watch for more info soon.
Fees are as follows:
Memberships are $50 per player or $90 for a family. Remember you can use this anytime there are open hours at DBA.
Address is 2800 Zeeb Rd (the old Sweepsters building way in the back by the railroad tracks)
Website:
www.dexterbaseballacademy.com
We hope you are able to take advantage of this opportunity to get in some early conditioning. Watch for emails and postings soon about registration, evaluations and opening day!
If you have specific questions please don't hesitate to e-mail: or call 734-395-3170
