Introducing the 2022-23 Dexter Little League Board!

Lisa Walter, President

This is my second year serving as DLL President, and I was the 2019 Softball Commissioner. My daughter started playing T-ball as a kindergartner and played MP, Minors, and Majors softball. During 2020 she was a member of the 9-10-11 Michigan Little League State Champion Team. My husband Randy was head coach of that team. The experience of winning Dexter Little League’s first ever state title was an amazing one for our family and everyone that was part of that team. My son Brock loves baseball and has played Tball, Machine Pitch, and now Minors baseball with Dexter Little League.

Kris Ray, Vice President

I am a lifelong baseball fanatic and am thrilled that my sons, Gus and Gabe, share my passion for the game.  I’ve enjoyed coaching DLL, as an assistant coach in machine pitch and a head coach in minors.  I love being on the field with the kids and sharing my excitement for the game and positive coaching philosophy.  I am excited to get involved with community baseball on the board level and look forward to getting to know more Dexter baseball and softball players and families.

Rob Edgcombe, Baseball Commissioner

This is my fourth year with Little League and second year with Dexter Little League. You will see my wife, Emily, around our fields scorekeeping! We have 6 combined children from ages 11-23.
I founded Huron Valley Baseball Academy with Rick Brandt to help kids find opportunities to play baseball and softball at all levels. I have been active running or supporting youth organizations for 17 years including coaching baseball for ages 7-15, coaching girls and boys travel soccer for ages 9-17, and coaching boys basketball for ages 7-10. I was an active youth player in baseball and adult softball through my early thirties.  Additionally, I have experience with youth organizations as a Cubmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and as Outdoor Activities Coordinator and committee member for a Scout troop while my now-adult son, Cole Edgcombe, participated. I have also been an original founder of a new travel soccer club, earned a MSYSA D state coaching certificate, and was a Grade 8 USYSA Soccer Referee while my now-adult daughter, Sam Edgcombe, played travel soccer. I continued coaching in a professional capacity with my daughter as an assistant for boys U10 and U15 soccer.

I am very excited to for our upcoming 2022 baseball season!

Tim Kewin, Softball Commissioner

 Jared Dykstra, Player Agent

Jason Fair, Secretary
Jason Fair is a Dexter Alumni. He and his wife live in Dexter along with their six children whose ages range from 21 years old to 18 months old (five boys and one girl)

Charlie Gagne, Treasurer and Umpire-in-chief
I have been on the Little League Board since 2003. I am now serving in Treasurer’s role for the second time (2003-2007, 2019-present). I have a son and daughter who played during 2003-2006 and I coached both baseball and softball. When my kids stopped playing, I started umpiring and became the Chief Umpire in 2009. I’ve been involved in lots of aspects of the DLL over the years. I had the honor of being the plate umpire for the 2016 State Majors Championship game.

Renee Shelton, Safety Director
This is my third season on the Little League Board. I played many years of softball and I love to watch young kids grow as players and teammates. My girls Ady (8) and Jade (10) participate in the softball program. My professional background is in Athletic Training and I am currently a Registered Nurse. The Safety Director position is a great way to be more involved in my community and support young athletes while also being able to contribute my professional experience to the role.

Eileen Carpenter, Sponsorships

This is my first year on the Dexter Little League Board. My two boys started playing at DLL last year and absolutely loved it. I feel privileged to support such a wonderful league and to help to continue its positive impact on our children. Looking forward to a fantastic 2022 season!

 Frank Dice, Equipment Manager

 Brad Rabquer, Field Manager

Bill Logan, Communications

Another newbie to the DLL board. Last year was our first year in Dexter Little League and my first year coaching our son in machine pitch. I also assisted with my younger son’s t-ball team. This year I am expanding my responsibilities to help on the DLL board. This is my first overall experience on the board and am looking forward to learning and contributing to the success and legacy of Dexter Little League.
We are a very active family, and our boys enjoy a wide range of activities including soccer, basketball and are currently playing 8U and 6U hockey in Chelsea. Just to name a few but you will also find us hiking, traveling, biking, and skiing (both downhill and water).

Heather Wiese, Fundraising

This is my second year on the DLL board and I have been involved with the league for a number of years as a parent manager and coach’s helper (wife). I am happy to be part of a program that brings the Dexter community together to support our kids on and off the field.

Rick Brandt, Member-at-Large

My son and daughter are both graduates of Dexter Little League. I've coached at all levels of softball and baseball for Little League, and have had the honor of coaching the 10U Softball All-Star Team to a District 3 Championship in 2017 (with an appearance in the state Little League tournament in 2017), and the 12U Softball All-Star Team to a District 3 Championship in 2018. I also coached the 10U Baseball team in 2019 and 12U Baseball team in 2021 to a District 3 Championship and state tournament participants. I also founded Huron Valley Baseball Academy with fellow board member Rob Edgcombe to help kids find opportunities to play baseball and softball at all levels. This is my fifth year on the DLL board.
