Play Ball (but read this first!)

Now that games are starting, we need everyone to be aware of the following policies:

  • Every person needs to wear a mask PROPERLY (covering mouth & nose) at all times and maintain social distancing with the only one exception: Players may remove their mask if they are actively playing (fielding, batting, baserunning).
  • We need to maintain social distancing of at least six feet.
  • Spectators are encouraged to sit in available green space around the outfield fence.
  • We will NOT be using dugouts this season. Instead, we have put up markers along the fence spaced at 6’ intervals. Players will place their gear at a marker. We recommend that each player bring a lawn chair to sit on as well.
  • The space surrounding the new “dugout” areas is marked at Creekside with tape - we ask that spectators refrain from sitting inside the marked areas so that the players are able to use that space to keep social distance during the games. The Mill Creek “dugouts” will be marked too but we had a hard time getting the tape to stick to the grass :-)
  • We encourage you to limit spectators to two per player. We know this is difficult with siblings and such but anything you can do to reduce the number of attendees at games is super appreciated.

The most important thing is that everyone understands the objective and does what they can to achieve the goal of allowing us to play baseball & softball this spring.

These rules are consistent with the guidelines in place for all Dexter Community School events and our adherence to them is necessary if we want to use the school fields.
